We’re excited to announce the formation of the Workplace Well-being Medical Advisory Board, which will provide expert medical insight and thought leadership on innovative employee health strategies. This board is composed of esteemed OptumHealth medical doctors who are renowned thought leaders focused on innovating practical wellness solutions. Their diverse expertise provides insight in developing solutions that address the real needs of today’s workplaces. The board emphasizes a holistic approach to health, and validates our approach towards orthopedic and musculoskeletal wellness, muscle gain and weight management, diabetes and cardiovascular, vascular and mental health, ensuring that our strategies consider the whole person and the whole body.
About our board members
David M. Chatman, MD, FACS is a Vascular surgeon with memberships in the National Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He is a fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Vascular Surgeons. Dr. Chatman is a well-respected senior healthcare professional and is currently earning a Master of Business Administration with a Healthcare Management concentration at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Michael P. Kennedy, MD, MBA, MHCDS, FAAOS, is an Orthopedic surgeon,with advanced degrees in medicine, business, healthcare delivery science and other relevant fields, equipping him with a multi-faceted perspective on healthcare management. He is deeply involved in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and an alumnus of both the University of Tennessee Alumni Association and Dartmouth program MHCDS. Dr. Kennedy is an esteemed member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, where he shares his expertise with the broader business and healthcare community.
Frank C. Smeeks, MS, MD, MBA, FACEP, Senior Medical Director, Emergency Medicine, is a distinguished senior physician executive with extensive expertise across multiple facets of healthcare management. With degrees in medicine, science and business, coupled with a fellowship in emergency practices, Dr. Smeeks has a comprehensive skill set that includes quality and clinical management, as well as strategic and operational management.
